Handmade book: Poemari i Relats Curts

Este libro hecho a mano es un regalo de cumpleaños que le hice a un amigo muy especial: Jordi.
Después de pensar durante un tiempo qué podría regalarle se me ocurrió la idea de hacerle un libro donde pudiera recopilar los poemas y relatos cortos que escribe (que por cierto, me encantan)
Por otra parte, desde hace unos meses sigo el blog de Jennibellie. Ella es una artista de numerosas cosas hechas a mano, la mayoría recicladas: art journal, home decor, libros, etc y   además, graba tutoriales para mostrar cómo las hace.
Ver las cosas tan chulas que crea me motivó a hacer mi propio libro. Y este es el resultado:

This handmade book is a birthday present for a very special friend, Jordi.
I wanted to make a nice gift for him and finally, the idea of a book for him to write his own poems and short stories came up.
On the other side, I follow Jennibellie's blog since some months ago. She is an artist of many crafts: art journal, home decor, books, etc (most of them recycled)  and whats more, she makes tutorials!
Watching her making art made me want to try my own handmade book and here is the result:

He utilizado cartón para las tapas, papel rústico para el interior y papel de acuarela para los art journals de dentro.

El lomo es cuero reciclado de un bolso que tenía que pasar a mejor vida. Me alegra que esté aquí porque ha recorrido mundo y varios conciertos conmigo :]

I used cardboard for the covers, "some kind of old paper" for the pages and watercolor paper for the journals inside.

The spine is made with recycled leather from an old bag of mine.

The decorative chain is from the same old bag.

El cosido del libro está hecho gracias a este maravilloso tutorial. Siempre recordaré las palabras "from the outside to the inside" ! Gracias! 

Qué locura cosiendo el libro, las páginas cayéndose, el hilo enganchándose en las esquinas... no encontrar el agujero! Todo a última hora, por supuesto! :D
Nota: La próxima vez utilizar cuerda y no hilo... El libro se desmonta y las cadenas no se aguantan ^^'

I watched this tutorial several times in order to make the bookbinding. I will always remember the words: "From the outside to the inside" Thanks! 

I went all crazy sewing the book, the pages falling down, the thread getting stuck on the corners... I couldn't find the hole! :D

Note: You better use string instead of thread. The book is now coming undone... ^^'

Art Journal con el poema Plus Ultra de Jacint Verdaguer. No hubo manera de captar con la cámara el verdadero color de esta página. Es un azul mucho más de media noche y el rojo casi no se ve. Todo un misterio!

El Papa Noel no viene con la página :D

 Me encanta haber creado este libro para él! Además le hizo mucha ilusión a pesar del estrés del momento. :D
